The Sushi Critic Names the Top 3 Sushi Restaurants for December 2010
Sushi lovers and restaurant critics, The Sushi Critic names the top 3 sushi restaurants for 2010 located in the New York and Florida regions.
Their list includes the best sushi restaurants on Long Island in New York and in Central Florida by Lake Mary, Winter Park and Deland, neighboring communities in the Orlando area. The evaluations separate the lousy from the good, the good from the great, and the great from the best.
Evaluations cover a variety of important restaurant elements, not just the food and not just the service. The Sushi Critic aims to provide sushi lovers with a list of restaurants in their area that have the best service, the freshest fish, quality ingredients, and the finest presentation.
Sushi’s popularity is greater now than it’s ever been. The fact that people are much more health conscious and sushi is loaded with nutrients, high in protein, low in fat, an excellent source of Omega 3 fatty acid and easy to prepare has turned this into a multi-billion dollar industry with restaurants springing up all over the country. It is no longer just a menu selection in Japanese restaurants. Sushi can be found in restaurants devoted exclusively to sushi and the extensive varieties modern day enthusiasts want. The ever changing menu choices these newer, trendier sushi establishments offer keeps the customer coming back for more.
The Sushi Critic says they’re currently looking to expand their list into other states and are welcoming review requests. During December 2010, the critics will be traveling throughout Florida reviewing nearly a dozen sushi restaurants. Several trips are planned for the New Year, to California, Arizona, Nevada and possibly New Jersey.
Each month we will update our list and roll out the latest and greatest in the sushi world. A press release will be distributed between the 1st and last day of each month naming the latest top 3 or top 10 sushi restaurants nationwide.
We’ll also review our favorite current rolls if and when they change. To quickly mention a few of our favorites thus far, there’s the Firestarter Roll served by Samurai Sushi in the Heathrow, Florida area – and there’s the Tropical One served at Taiko in Rockville Centre, New York. Although these rolls consist of somewhat basic ingredients and fish, their presentation and sauces make them what they are. The Tropical One, for instance, consists of salmon, avocado and mango on the inside wrapped in soy paper and topped with sweet chili and wasabi mayo sauce. We’ve tried to reproduce this roll at home with little luck due to the sauces being a special in-house mix at the restaurant. The Firestarter is hot in taste, not in temperature. There’s no actual fire included with the dish – but the sushi itself has a slight red hot bang to it. It tastes almost like a mix of eel sauce, rice wine and sriracha. This sauce definitely falls into our current top 5 favorite special sauces.
Finally, be on the lookout for special offers. Many of the restaurants listed on The Sushi Critic have opted to offer special offers and dinner discounts as incentives to drive in new customers. These special offers will be exclusive to The Sushi Critic and will not be available anywhere else on the internet.
The Sushi Critic provides a list of the Best Sushi Restaurants nationwide based on a careful evaluation of the restaurant’s service, quality of food, cleanliness of establishment and presentation of each dish. For more details please visit www.thesushicritic.com
